2006 - A Glorious Year of Celebrations Honouring
the Longest Reigning Monarch.

The Thai people's reverance for the monarchy is unique. This has come about, particularly during the present Chakri Dynasty, through the devotion of the Royal Family to helping and guiding their subjects. The people return this devotion with sincere love, so seldom seen elsewhere in the world.

The year 2006 is one of regal significance for all Thais, as we commemorate the Sixtieth Anniversary Celebration of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Accession to the Throne. To honour our beloved King, we have arranged a year-long Grand Festival of Events nationwide to share our colourful culture with all of our visitors.
